PETER HENNESSEY
Peter Hennessey is one of six artists selected for the inaugural Anne Landa Exhibition and Award - the first Australian award for the moving image and new media. Peter Hennessey's My Voyager, a 1:1 scale model of Voyager 2 (one of two spacecraft launched by NASA in 1977), and DVD Golden Record (Fitzroy Remix) are on display at the Art Gallery of NSW from 2 December 2004 to 13 February 2005. The winner of the $25,000 prize will be announced on 18 January 2005.

Peter Hennessey's My Woomera Project (What do you fear?) 2004 is currently on display at The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), Federation Square, Melbourne between 9 December and 13 February. This actual size, plywood reconstruction of the Ikara missile, along with video installation, reflects "firstly the changing nature of Woomera, and its relation to Australia's perception of itself as under threat; and secondly the juxatposition of what we are supposed to fear as a nation and what we fear as individuals."

CHRISTOPHER LANGTON
Christopher Langton has been shortlisted for the 2005 National Sculptural Prize, a biennial award worth $50,000. Langton is one of 39 finalists selected from a record 636 entries. The winner will be announced when the works go on show at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra next July.

COLIN DUNCAN
Colin Duncan's Lollypop Forest Installation 1 will be on display at TarraWarra Museum of Art from 14 November 2004 to February 2005.

BRENT HARRIS
Brent Harris is the first Australian artist to be invited to work at the Singapore Tyler Print Institute. This world-class Institute is dedicated to advanced print making and experimentation. It will exhibit The Brent Harris Project in it's gallery in 2005.

JUDY WATSON
A major new museum in Paris, the Musee du quai Branly, opening in January 2006, has commissioned Judy Watson to produce a work that will be part of the architectural fabric of the building. This landmark commission was organised by prominent indigenous curators Brenda Croft (National Gallery of Australia) and Hetti Perkins (Art Gallery of New South Wales).

Other artists selected are Lena Nyadbi, Paddy Nyunkuny Bedford, Gulumbu Yunupingu, John Mawurndjul, Tommy Watson, Ningura Napurrula and Michael Riley. All were chosen following extensive consideration and assessment of artists from around Australia by the museum and curatorial team.

ROSEMARY LAING >
A major survey exhibition of the work of Rosemary Laing opens at the Centro de Fotografia Salamanca, Spain in October. The exhibition will be accompanied by a substantial catalogue.

Photographs from Rosemary Laing's series groundspeed 2001 are on display at the National Gallery of Victoria in Living Together is Easy. Curated by Erika Osaka and Jason Smith, Living Together is Easy was shown at Art Tower Mito, Tokyo before travelling to Melbourne. The exhibition closes 7 November 2004.

BILL HENSON
In January 2005 the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney will present the Bill Henson retrospective. This exhibition will bring together a number of Henson's important series so that the major themes of his work from the last 30 years can be studied.

DAVID WADELTON
David Wadelton is the winner of The Spirit of Football Acquisitive Prize valued at $40,000. David Wadelton’s prize winning painting Show Them You Want It 2004 is currently on display at the National Gallery of Victoria, Federation Square until 3 October 2004.
